WAPDA Awards Rs. 640 Million Contract for Schools Construction at Seo Village
May 1, 2026: WAPDA awarded a contract worth Rs. 640 million for construction of two Government Schools at Seo Village in Upper Kohistan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
It is worth mentioning here that WAPDA is establishing a Primary and a High School in this far-flung and backward area under ‘Local Area Development Programme’ of Dasu Hydropower Project as its Corporate Social Responsibility.
The contract signing ceremony was held at the Project office today. DG (Social Safeguards) Dasu Hydropower Project Maj Tariq Mehmood (Retd) and representative of the Construction firm signed the contract on behalf of their organizations. The ceremony was also attended by Chief Engineer (Contracts) Salman Akram, along with other officials of Dasu Hydropower Project.
As per the contract both schools – to be completed in two years – will house latest class rooms, computer and science laboratories equipped with modern gadgets, and staff rooms.
The initiative of establishing these schools reflects WAPDA’s strong commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure and empowering local communities, paving the way towards a bright and prosperous future for the generations to come.
