The project is located on Ghizer River near Phandar Lake to Chhashi Gol, 160 km North-West of Gilgit-Chitral Road and 772 km from Islamabad.It has an installed capacity of 80 MW and annual energy generation of 374 GWh.

The project is located on Basho Lungma (Nullah) near Basho Village, 45 km downstream of Skardu Town. Basho Lungma is a left tributary of Indus River and is 704 km from Islamabad. (Gilgit-Baltistan). The project sites for Thakot I, II, and III are located 4km upstream of Besham, 12km downstream of Besham (Tentative), and 15km downstream of Thakot (tentative) respectively. The project is located on On Indus River about 3 km upstream of village Patan, 5km downstream of Keyal Khwar in KP Province. The powerhouse is situated on the left bank near Patan Village, 305 Km from Islamabad. It has a proposed installed capacity of 2400 MW and annual energy generation of 12,500 GWh.
