October 23, 2026: Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and Special Communications Organization (SCO) today signed two agreements for Dasu and Chilas Safe City Projects. The signing ceremony was held at WAPDA House.
Chairman WAPDA Lt Gen Muhammad Saeed (Retd) and Director General SCO Maj Gen Sajjad Haider Khan witnessed the ceremony. Member (Water) WAPDA Asim Rauf Khan, CEO Diamer Basha Development Company Dr. Nazakat Hussain and senior officers of WAPDA and SCO were also present on the occasion.
GM/PD Dasu Hydropower Project Amir Shafiq-ur-Rehman and Director Special Projects SCO Brig Syed Saeb Imam Zaidi (Retd) signed the agreement for Dasu Safe City Project, while CE/PD Diamer Basha Dam Arif Ali and Director Special Projects SCO Brig Syed Saeb Imam Zaidi (Retd) signed the agreement for Chilas Safe City Project on behalf of their organizations.
Dasu Safe City Project, worth Rs. 6.38 billion, is scheduled to be completed in about 11 months. Likewise, Rs. 7.68 billion Chilas Safe City Project will also be completed in 11 months.
