Federal Minister for Water Resources Visits WAPDA House :: Reviews Progress, Post-Flood Situation at Under-Construction WAPDA Projects

​September 03, 2022: Federal Minister Water Resources Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah visited WAPDA House today and had a briefing about the progress as well as post-flood situation at under-construction WAPDA projects.

Chairman Address

Addressing the senior management and the employees at WAPDA House today, WAPDA Chairman Lt Gen Sajjad Ghani (Retd) spoke of his priorities to make WAPDA a vibrant organization for prompt development of water and hydropower resources, adding that welfare of the employees would always remain close to his heart. After the address, he had an interaction with the WAPDA players who won medals for Pakistan in recent Commonwealth Games and Islamic Solidarity Games.

Water Resources Federal Secretary, WAPDA Chairman visit Mohmand Dam Project to review post-flood situation

August 27, 2022: Water Resources Federal Secretary Dr. Kazim Niaz and WAPDA Chairman Lt. Gen Sajjad Ghani (Retd) today visited Mohmand Dam Project to review the situation in the project area in the wake of the unprecedented flood peaks in River Swat.

Exceptionally high floods at under-construction site of Mohmand Dam Project

August 26, 2022: Extra ordinary flood situation is witnessed in River Swat at under-construction Mohmand Dam Project site. Resultantly, flood water entered the diversion tunnels breaching and overtopping the protection dyke, which adversely affected the construction activities at the Project. Exceptionally high water flows are expected in River Swat in the coming hours as well. With this in view, project management has taken precautionary measures and is closely watching the situation to mitigate any further damage.
