- Present Status:
- WAPDA Authority Awarded Consultancy Services for Preparation of subject Feasibility Study to M/s MM Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. – BARQAAB Consulting Services (Pvt.) Ltd. (JV). The Consultant commenced their services w.e. from 23.05.2022.
- Inception Report along with ESIA was submitted by the consultants after incorporating the project office comments on 16.01.2023 and the same was also shared with Secretary Irrigation Department, GoS on 17.02.2023 for Review and comments.
- Draft Mid-term report was submitted by the Consultants on 10.10.2023.
- Groundwater studies, Environmental studies, Resettlement studies, Soil & water quality field testing, Geo-tech investigation, Strip Survey of project areas, Condition survey, hydrological studies, Agriculture studies, digital Mapping and data collection from other Govt. Departments have been completed under mid-term task of feasibility study. Whereas Drainage alignments and Disposal options have been finalized with the help of Stake holders i-e Govt. of Sindh and Locals.
- Final Mid-term report was submitted by the Consultants on 16.02.2024.
- EoT-1 for implementation of Project was approved by MoWR up to 31 Dec, 2023.
- EoT-2 for implementation of Project w.e.from 01st January 2024 to 31st March, 2025 has been approved by DDWP on 22.10.2024.
- Addendum No.01 for consultancy services upto 31st December 2023, amounting Rs. 284.966 Million was approved by the competent authority on 29.12.2023.
- Adjusted Addendum No. 1 within approved cost of Addendum No. 1 w.e.from 01.01.2024 to 30.06.2024 was approved by the competent authority on 27.05.2024.
- Addendum No.2 (Amendment No. 03) w.e.f 01.07.2024 to 31.12.2024 was approved by WAPDA Authority in its meeting held on 31.07.2025 & 01.08.2025 and the signing of Addendum No.2 (Amendment No. 03) is under process.
- Draft Feasibility Report was submitted by the Consultants on 29.03.2024 which was shared with the stakeholder i.e. Secretary Irrigation Department, GoS for review and Comments.
- Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) accorded Approval / NOC regarding Feasibility study of Jacobabad Drainage Project WAPDA Sukkur on 05.06.2024.
- Final Feasibility Report was submitted on 29.07.2024.
- Detailed Engineering Design was submitted on 31.07.2024.
- The PQ documents submitted by Consultants JV in June, 2025 and Bidding Documents on 28.07.2025.
- The PC-I was cleared by SRC WAPDA on 27.02.2025. IHD regarding PC-I was held at WAPDA Mega Hydel Complex Islamabad in the Convenorship of Worthy Chairman WAPDA on 18.03.2025 and it was directed to approach ID, GoS, for consent for processing PC-I.
- Despite series of request (April to Sept, 2025) by WAPDA to Secretary ID, GoS, regarding the consent for processing of PC-I through MoWR has not been conveyed till date.
- On 29.09.2025 WAPDA requested to Secretary, ID GoS containing the para wise comments/replies of C.E Guddu Barrage with the request to issue the consent on PC-I, however, no response received so far.
- Moreover, the Technical Committee notified vide letter dated 27.10.2025 comprising the officers of WAPDA & Irrigation Department, GoS to review issues of Projects executed by WAPDA in Sindh Province.
- 3rd Extension in implementation period of the project w.e.f 01.04.2025 to 30.06.2026 approved by DDWP in its meeting held on 23.10.2025. Minutes of meeting awaited.
- The case for allocation/release of funds amounting to Rs. 315.862 Million in the CFY 2025-26 has been processed by project office dated 28.10.2025 for clearing consultants pending liabilities and WAPDA bridge financing for financial closure of the project.
