KEYAL KHWAR HYDROPOWER PROJECT

Location

The Project in in the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP) of Pakistan on Keyal Khwar in Dasu District.  The project is accessible by road and is at a distance of 310 km from Islamabad. Keyal Khwar is the right tributary of Indus River.

PRESENT STATUS  

 

  • Feasibility study to be updated under Kfw grant.

  • Consultants mobilized on 24.04.2006.

  • The Project to be undertaken in two phases:

          Phase-I:  Collection of data and inception report (April 2006 to October 2006)
          Phase-II: Feasibility study (February 2007 to September 2007)

  • Draft feasibility report has been completed in October 2007.

  • The comments submitted by different WAPDA formations are being incorporated by the consultants for final issuance of report.

  • The final feasibility report has been submitted by the Consultants (Feb 2008)

  • Finalization of financing by KfW for implementation of the project is under consideration.

  • Pre-qualification of Consultants for detail Design, preparation of Tender Documents and construction supervision has been finalized and approved by WAPDA/KfW.

  • RFP for Detailed Engineering Design and preparation of Tender Documents has been finalized and is being sent to KfW for approval.
