WAPDA athletes shine in 2nd National Athletics Competition 2017
Secure 1st position in 3 categories, 2nd in 1 category

Lahore - October 31, 2017: Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) athletes outclassed their competitors in the 2nd National Athletics Competition 2017, as WAPDA secures first position in three categories of the event, while second in the fourth category according to the medal tally.

The 2-day National Athletics Competition was held at Islamabad. The athletes from the four provinces namely Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab and Sindh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit Baltistan (GB), Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Islamabad, Army, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Navy, Railways and WAPDA participated in the National Competition.

Category-wise results of the event are as under:
Men (Junior): First position by WAPDA and second position by HEC
Women (Junior): First position by WAPDA and second position by HEC
Men (Youth): First position by WAPDA and second position by Railways
Women (Youth): First position by Sindh and second position by WAPDA

It is a matter of great honor for WAPDA that M/S. Rizwana Yasmin and Ambreen Arshad WAPDA Players have been apointed as Captain and Vice Captain respectively of Pakistan Women Hockey team which will participate in Asian Challange Hockey Cup to be held at Buronai Darul Islam from 22nd to 29th October, 2017.

Further out of 18 members of Pakistan Hockey team, 11 Players belong to WAPDA. 

WAPDA greets national women hockey team

Lahore – October 20, 2017: National women hockey team, headed by their Captain Rizwana Yasmin, called on WAPDA Chairman and WAPDA Sports Board Patron-in-Chief Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (Retd) at WAPDA House today. The team management also accompanied them during the visit. WAPDA Sports Board President and senior officers were also present on the occasion.

WAPDA wrestlers excel in World Beach Wrestling Championship; Both wrestlers win gold medals for Pakistan

Lahore – October 16, 2017: Representing Pakistan in World Beach Wrestling Championship, Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) wrestlers showed exceptional performance by winning two gold medals for the country. The championship was held in Dalyan, Turkey from October 13 to 15, 2017.
