Tarbela 4th Extension Hydropower Project restarts electricity generation

September 8, 2018: Tarbela 4th Extension Hydropower Project has restarted electricity generation this evening, as the second gate of its unit No.16 has also been lifted paving the way to resume power generation from the project. The electricity, generated by the project, is being provided to the National Grid.

WAPDA CHAIRMAN CALLS ON HONOURABLE CHIEF JUSTICE OF PAKISTAN; PRESENTS DETAILED REPORT ON DAMS

August 30, 2018: Implementation Committee of Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dams (ICDBMD) / Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Chairman Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (Retd) called on the Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Mian Saqib Nisar today i.e. 30.08.2018 at Supreme Court of Pakistan, Islamabad, and presented him the comprehensive report of the ICDBMD for early commencement and timely completion of the two vital multi-purpose projects namely Diamer Basha Dam and Mohmand Dam with cumulative gross water storage capacity of 9.3 million acre feet (MAF) and electricity generation capacity of 5300 mega watt (MW).
