Dasu Hydropower Project: WAPDA signs agreement for construction of Project Colony and Infrastructure

WPR Dasu HPPLahore – October 19, 2018: The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) today signed a contract worth Rs.4.90 billion with M/s China Gansu International Corporation for Economic and Technical Cooperation (CGICOP) for construction of Project Colony and Infrastructure (PCI-01R) – one of the components of Dasu Hydropower Project.

October 18, 2018: Chairman Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) /Chairman Implementation Committee of Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dams (ICDBMD) Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (Retd.)reviewed progress on the tasks assigned to the Sub-Committees on Land Acquisition & Resettlement for Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dams.The meetings were held at ICDBMD Secretariat, Islamabad.

October 08, 2018: Federal Minister for Water Resources Muhammad Faisal Vawda visited Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Camp Office in Islamabad today. ChairmanWAPDALt Gen Muzammil Hussain (Retd) briefed the Federal Minister about the water situation in Pakistan and WAPDA projects in water and hydropower sectors.

Giant leap towards hydel resource development: Tarbela 4th Project’s third and last unit also connected with National Grid Power generation from Tarbela 4th Extension Project crosses 1300 MW

October 5, 2018: The hydel resource development in Pakistan takes a giant leap forward, as the third and the last unit of Tarbela 4th Extension Hydropower Project was also synchronized with the National Grid today. The third unit was operated on various loads up to 466 MW.

October 05, 2018: The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Chairman Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (Retd) today visited Gomal Zam Dam located in South Waziristan tribal district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The Chairman had a detailed round of various components of the dam and the power house during the visit.
