Lahore – March 22, 2016: On the initiative of the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), an eight rupees commemorative postage stamp about water conservation has been issued today to mark World Water Day, which is celebrated on March 22 every year across the globe.
The design of the commemorative stamp was approved by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif with the slogan “Water is life, start conserving it”. The stamp also carries the description “Help WAPDA serve Pakistan, conserve water”.
Today in a ceremony held here at WAPDA House to celebrate the World Water Day, all employees of WAPDA gratefully acknowledge the support of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in the field of conservation of water. It was felt by Members of the organization that the PM’s support would motivate them further to redouble their efforts in the field of water conservation, thereby help the country in achieving water security.
